GAYNGS
Six months ago my friend Isaac Gale called me and asked if I would come to Minneapolis to help film this concert:
GAYNGS! Holy crap. Every time I hear these guys I ask myself ‘How do they have the guts to make this music today? ’ It sounds like they were frozen in a glacier in 1982, unfrozen in 2010 and are thawing out some of the best slow jams ever. SLOW JAMS! Well…slow...
It's Business [Card] Time!
I’m ordering new business cards and I want them to be cool. I work with creative people and so a boring, or poorly printed business card just doesn’t fly.
Then again, I find myself asking why I even bother printing these things. Sure — if I meet someone and I can pull out a badass business card then I feel like we’ve made a connection. Maybe they’ll call or email me about...

Last night I got together with my good friends and ate dinner potluck style! I brought wine. I’m the worst contributor to a potluck in the history of potlucks. Seriously - I can barely cook myself a meal, let alone a dish that will serve 10 other people. I had originally signed up to bring chicken wings from my favorite chicken wing spot - but they’re closed on Mondays. So, what do I...

Honest Tea Tour Day 1
Hello there! I’m In Boston for the first day of the Honest Tea Tour. I don’t know if there is an official name for the tour, so let’s just call it the “Honest Tea Honest Store Honest Tour.” Or, HTHSHT for short.
So, during HTHSHT, I’ll be traveling across the country this month to direct and edit viral videos! Sweet!
Speaking of sweet… I tried Honest Tea...

Goodbye Conando!
Watch Conan tonight because it’s his last night hosting The Tonight Show. NBC’s horrible managing of their talk show circuit (or should I say, ‘circus’) has actually come to this. The only vindication I’ve seen is how amazing Conan handled his show up to the very last minute. Some of the most memorable and gutsy performances of any talk show host I’ve ever...

Here’s a departure from my music video production: Pink Together. Earlier this year I teamed up with General Mills and the Susan G. Komen foundation to produce videos for the 2009 Pink Together breast cancer awareness campaign. You will start seeing this stuff on General Mills products in the coming months and the videos are now live on the pinktogether.com website. It was a great project to...

Pitchfork keeps trickling in with gems from the festival. Finally a set I operated camera for! This was so fun… If you’re curious - I operated the camera on the stage that focused mostly on Wavves singer Nathan Williams.

Here’s a story I’ve been meaning to post. I was on the film crew at Pitchfork Music Festival a few weekends ago and they’ve started posting video online. This one is The Jesus Lizard, known for dangerous moshpits and a lot of stage-diving, spitting and other punk antics.
My good friend Isaac Gale was operating the camera here, center stage barricade, and I was assisting him (We...

The New Yorker on St. Louis Park
I grew up in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. If the name didn’t sound like the smallest place on earth, I’d be more apt to tell everyone how great it is. Luckily, The New Yorker just did that for me — and quoted my high school journalism teacher/advisor/mentor, Mim Kagol. Those are tough acts to follow out of SLP…I hope that creosote plant and solar-lunar eclipse had a long-lasting...

I love what I do.
I love what I do. Even when I’m up until 4 a.m. editing or my client refuses to acknowledge budget and scope, I love it. I think this industry - or any creative industry, for that matter - needs passion to survive.
I try to bring that with me every day and I try to seek out collaborators and crew that share the same love for cameras, stories and stunts that I do. That’s all I have to...
We’re back on MTV this week! After filming Soundset, I was asked to cut 6 songs for MTV’s Twin Cities Independent Music Week.
Here we have Brother Ali’s ‘Self Taught.’ Visit MTV.com or tune in this week to see more from Ali, Atmosphere and P.O.S.

Paintthatshitgold.com Wins a GOLD Effie Yo! →
This is awesome for my friends at Colle+McVoy and Rhymesayers, a relationship I created back in 2008. Good for me, too, as “creative consultant” ha! Nice to see the fruits of our labor recognized like this. Big win!

Holy Buzzworthy
Another P.O.S post - but it’s okay because, well, it’s P.O.S for god’s sake.
Our video for “Why Go” just went Buzzworthy! (MTV)
More blog-love, too:

There are a few more out there…but you know how to use Google, right?

P.O.S did this cover of “Why Go” by Pearl Jam to celebrate the re-release of their album Ten (in stores this Tuesday - March 24).
I shot the video in his living room at 7 p.m., edited it and had it uploaded to MTV’s server by 11 p.m. Pretty exciting to see it all over their networks a few days later and now getting tossed around the internets like a favorite ragdoll.
New York...

Colbert, circa 1997
So, I don’t know how to label this one: Cool? Weird?
The one thing I do know - definitely blog worthy.
The Lime iMac you see in this clip is actually mine. In fact, it was the first computer I ever called my own — purchased my freshman year of high school and mostly used to download Biz Markee songs for free from the original Napster. I sold it to my brother (who now works as a Field Producer...

City Pages features POS' Behind The Scenes Video →
Minneapolis’ City Pages blog featured my Behind The Scenes: POS’ Drumroll video today. Pretty great shoutout and plug for the video that will air on MTVu next week. Check it out.
An extended cut of this behind-the-scenes video will be featured on Xbox live (along with the video and a chance to play Skate2 against POS) sometime in the near future, too.
Correction: We did not shoot on...
